Building Community Around Your Data Journey

Why You Shouldn't Do This Alone

Doing it alone: Month 2 you hit obstacles with nobody to talk to; by Month 4-5 momentum stalls. With community: obstacles get help, you see others' solutions, accountability keeps you going. Research: public commitment increases follow-through ~65%; peer accountability increases success ~80%; group learning accelerates progress ~40%.

Three Types of Community

Online forum (free): Reddit, Discord, Slack — good for quick questions; low accountability. Peer group ($2-5k): Cohort, mastermind — accountability, structured learning, relationships. One-on-one ($5-15k): Full personalization; less peer learning. If you need accountability and learn better with others, group coaching is worth it.

Coaching Program Community

Monthly group calls (8-12 founders), async Slack, peer accountability groups (2-3 people, weekly 15-min check-in). You're not alone; you're held accountable; you have support. You learn from real companies solving real problems — you can't get that from articles alone.

Building Your Own (If DIY)

Find a buddy (weekly 15-min check-in). Join an existing Slack/Discord. Start your own channel and invite 5-10 people. Attend meetups or conferences. Community isn't just for the project — the relationships are the real asset.
